I think the saying 'write what you know' is one of those universal truths - because it's so very true. I like it translated for visual artists into 'draw what you know' or 'design what you know'.
Whether from purpose or passion, it looks like designer and ACAD alumni Ryan Davis has stayed true to this concept to great success by combining his passion for design and drawing with stuff like skate boarding, snow boarding, and bmx.
As the current school year is winding down to it's final few weeks, I remember Ryan was already flying down to California to interview with Circa at the end of his college days. And this is another universal truth I see with artists - the ones that 'just do it' , do it.
